Comments:
The score calculation is basically a raw score without addition of bonus points.
Not shown is an added bonus multiplier of 17 for the 17 counties where we had
>10 QSO's.
This was our first attempt at mobile operation...and it was a blast! Mark K0EJ
and I operated while Sam N4DRV did a major part of driving and navigating. We
kept a signal on the air for virtually the entire 9 hours. Pit stops allowed
for operator changes but no loss of air time. Several times our route carried
us through the heart of small towns which created very RF-unfriendly
environments and we apologize for not being able to copy many callers during
these short periods. We also found a few RF "black holes' as we traversed a
few mountainsides, but the rate from the top hopefully made up for it.
Special mention goes to CU2JT with whom we recorded 8 QSO's, 3 on 20m and 5 on
40M! Thanks, Gary!
Thanks to everyone for the QSO's, your patience while we sometimes chased the
keyboard around to enter an exchange and for making this a most memorable
event. As Mark referred to it, "Sam, Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure".
Indeed.
73, Ted W4NZ
