Comments:
Unfortunately my big news was the local weather and propagation .... both poor.
Our region is suffering through a moderate drought this summer but Ma Nature
decided to dump 2" of rain on W0ZQ/R on Sat. while I was in far SE corner of
MN. It rained all day, sometimes hard. Despite the very difficult roving
conditions I was able to work K0AWU (EN37), the Twin Cities crew, K9CVC (EN44),
KB9TLV (EN45), K2DRH (EN41), and KM0T (EN13) along with a few of the other
rovermania rovers. However, with the low pressure system overhead and the rain
coming down, propagation was just darn poor. Sunday was cloudy and started off
with a light mist falling .... at least it wasnt raining. Local activity was
good, but propagation was still very poor as I heard very little out past about
250 km. I looked for K2DRH at each stop but nothing was heard on these "longer"
paths. The usual booming signals from KM0T were S2. In summary, it was a very
wet affair for me this year, sometimes a struggle, but always a hoot to be out
and about in the rover. For next year, Rovermania V, I have already put in a
request for some good propagation ..... we are due. 73, Jon
