Comments:
It's monsoon season here in the Southwest, with thunderstorms being a daily
occurrence. Amazingly, all the storms stayed at least 10 miles away, and I was
able to choose which 2 hours to take off.
No one ever seemed loud on 15 meters, but at least it was good for some
multipliers. 20 was just fantastic during the late afternoon with big signals
and great activity, but closed a little early. That's okay, because by then I
really needed to be on 40. 40 was just fair with lots of noise and generally
weak signals from W1/2/3. 80 was okay for a summer contest, but not much worked
from the northeast USA. 160 was terrible. Only the W6's, K0RF and N5TW were
significantly above the QRN. Never heard W1/2/3/8 and only a few 4's and 9's,
who mostly CQ'd in my face.
Thanks for all the QSO's and multiplier moves !
73,
Steve, N2IC
