Comments:
Glad to provide some Qso's to those hard-working Class A and B portables.
Stayed in "Search & Pounce Mode", and did not stay up all night
(so I anticipated low score).
Nice to work so many club stations and a few special event stations:
K1R, W4A, N6A, K9W, LY80D, and the World Cup Socker station, DQ2006X.
EOC stations included W2EN, K4EX, K5GVL, W6YX, K7RST, N8OO, W8DF
Extended use of 20 M and curtailed use of lower bands when Dry Thunderstorms
forced safety disconnect of wire-antennas. Good skip distance east and west on
20 M.
FD-2006 offered several "firsts" for me: First participation in 15 years,
first with new callsign, first with CW (KK5W you were smoking at 37 wpm!)
and I enjoyed it so much that I may retire my microphone.
Recognized and resolved some setup issues. Appologies to those with B4
responses
on Sunday: TR-LOG flags most duplicates in red, but a few DUPS got through
because they were NOT red ... (likely operator set-up error).
Rig: FT-1000MP MK-V
Power: 100 W
Antennas: TH-7DX, Inverted Vee's
Software: TR-Log
Power Source: Motor-Generator Kawasaki GE2900A into APC-3000 UPS
73, Tom N7NNJ (EX, AJ6L)
