Comments:
Our very best wishes go out to Matt, KC1XX, who has not been feeling well. We
know you are getting better everyday Matt and know that you will be 100% very
soon.
Super Congrats to the W3LPL and KC1XX multi multi teams. This is a very tough
category to compete in and keeping up with the LPLs? and XXs? is lots of fun!
Due to the wind storm, we had a few antenna problems (broken boom on one of the
20 meter Yagis in the 3 high stack) 12 hours before the start of the contest,
but everything was repaired and ready to go at contest time.
This was one of the best ever crews here at K3LR. Doing well in multi multi
starts and ends with great operators. We were fortunate to have a room full of
the best operators!
K1EA did a superb job on 160 chasing down every QSO possible. What a pleasure it
was to have Ken here.
K3UA and K8CX really did a tremendous job on 80. These two low band gurus have
over 75 years combined contesting experience! The new 8 vertical array (Two 4
squares) is really working well and the new 2nd station (M2 dipole at 180 feet)
is a pile up buster.
N2NC and KL9A are an AMAZING 40 meter team. Trading chairs (RUN/MULT) every
hour, these guys know how to make QSOs and big MULTS on 7 Mc.
K1AR and W2RQ were just outstanding on 20 meters. What can you say when you have
two #1 guys that work 100% perfect together and don?t miss ANYTHING!
VE3NE and VE3EY had a tall order making sure we stayed close on 15 meters. These
guys worked VERY hard and did SUPER!
N3GJ and W2AU stayed in the chairs for 13 hours both days to work 53 guys on 10
meters. N3GJ is our anchor 10 meter operator. This is W2AU?s (16 years old)
third trip to K3LR and he has more fun every time!
My sincere thanks to Dave, W9ZRX who works behind the scene making sure the
computers run well and taking care of so many details in the station design. I
would be lost without him.
Also thanks to Phil, K3UA who transports many of the operators from the airport
every contest.
Thank you to Jim, K4SQR for many custom projects that he takes care of for us.
Station details are at http://www.k3lr.com HARDWARE tab
We?ll see everyone in two weeks for the ARRL DX Phone contest!
For the K3LR multi multi contest team >>
Very 73!
