That was great fun! Got to the camper at about 2100 CT, fired up the heat(29
degrees outside) fired up the rigs-- ooops no rigs- GFI breaker in the bathroom
was tripped- thanks to Jim KD0S for catching that- pulled in the open wire
feeder for the Vee beam and the coax for the vertical, got all set up and ready
in a few minutes, and logged by hand using Jim's paper. Good thing he was
there.
Ran single radio to the 20ft high Vee beam pointed E/W. Thanks to all the guys
who pulled me out, I was not loud. Normally the Vee is at 60ft at the high end
and 40 ft at the low ends, but I have a mast issue right now due to wind
damage.
Had a lot of fun with the multiple Q's- K7NV(8), N3BB(6), VA3NR(4), W9RE(3),
K1GU(3), K0EJ(2),K4BAI(2), N6RO(2), and 1 QSO each with W4NZ, N9CK, K5OT, N4ZZ,
and KZ5D.
This is a fun event, wish I could participate more, but being a portable
operation while building a house, its about all I can do just occasionally.
Thanks again, and keep up the great event, 73 God Bless! Todd WD0T
