Comments:
Took off 3 hours Saturday night at 0100 to go out with the YL. Probably would
have had 1060-1070 QSO's otherwise, which would have been very close to my high
water mark of 1090.
Band incredibly quiet, which I'm thankful for! EU openings good, Carribbean and
West Coast openings super! However, the W6's did not seem to be out in force
this time. SF was among the missing. Very good daytime conditions Saturday
afternoon and Sunday morning. Amazed at the daytime signal strengths.
Unfortunately, things got very funky Sunday after 0700 - signals quite weak with
lots of QSB. Every contact (and there were few of them then) was a struggle.
I have to echo the sentiment about the lack of dupe checking. Seems like lots of
ops are calling on 2 or even 3 ocassions. In a lot of cases, it is simply
putting the callsign in the log incorrectly.
Some have mentioned that they can hear me but I am not hearing them. Hey, I do
the best I can with only a dipole at 50 feet and 800 watts. Beverages?? That's
something I only use when thirsty!
73, Mitch
