Comments:
Things went very well tonight on 20 meters, I was progressing nicely, and after
about 15 minutes I started thinking I should go to 40. The contest was going so
well on 20, though, that I kept putting it off. Finally, after 33 contacts in 23
minutes on 20 meters, with 7 minutes to go I switched to 40, thinking I could
get a burst in the last few minutes and a couple new multipliers, as I have in
previous sessions. My rate promptly fell completely apart.
I couldn't get in sync, signals were weak, I couldn't make myself heard, just
everything was wrong on 40 meters. I wound up with 4 QSOs in the last 7 minutes
of the contest.
Overall, my best score and most number of QSOs since I started participating in
this contest. Too bad about 40 meters, I guess you just never know exactly how
things are going to work.
