Comments:
As a shakedown for Rovermania (ARRL UHF contest), I was only able to get out on
Sunday. My original plans were to activate six grids but I was so busy I ended
up activating only four; EN24/25/34/35. On the bad news front the 2304
transverter is deaf and is headed to the bench. On the good news front, the
new 5760 transverter is working well as is the W0ZQ/R rover-lite mobile, all
primed for the UHF contest and Rovermania II.
How strong was the Sunday afternoon aurora ? I worked half a dozen 6m stations
running 100 watts to a mobile whip .... best DX to K7BV/1. On 2m I worked a
dozen stations or so running 50 watts and a 4 element yagi. That was fun.
See you all in the August UHF contest, August 6/7, and Rovermania II.
