Score substantially lower than the Jan, 2004 NAQP CW.
Started 1.5 hours late. East coast stations seemed rather sparse on several of
the bands. Both antenna rotators froze up after just budging a little when
first used. One tribander and 40-2 CD stuck at 270 degrees and the other
tribander stuck at 150 degrees.
Conditions were poor on 10 and 15 -- except for mostly LOUD California stations
-- loads of them in the log.
Twenty and 40 meters were rather mediocre. Forty was somewhat noisy, and the
bandwidth was small -- RTTY, etc took over at 7040. Time on 20 and 40 was not
very productive.
Spent the last 3 hours and 45 minutes on 80 and 160 meters. At least,
conditions there were great. Had some nice CQ runs. Rates over 100 for quite a
while -- peaked at 135 or so. Perhaps should have gone to 80 earlier.
55 % of QSOs via CQs.
I hope everyone affected by the ice storms can soon repair any damaged antennas
and still enjoy the rest of the contest season. Please be careful!
