Comments:
For some reason WRITELOG just doesn't see LPT1 on my computer, so the whole
contest was with paddles only. So that's my excuse for not doing the entire 10
hours and I'm sticking to it. No 160 antenna so I shorted the coax of a low 20M
dipole and managed to get the SWR to somewhere near 5:1. Pretty pathetic when
K4RO at 30 over couldn't hear me. A miricle that I even managed 9 QSOs and 7
mults, and the band was a jumpin'! 80 meters was just amazing. The QSOs and
mults kept coming and coming. Lots of room to find a run frequency. 40 just
plain sucked every time I checked it. Lots of fun and looking forward to SSB.
ICOM 751A, 130'dipole @50', 40-10 fan dipole @55', 20/160 dipole @30'. 73, Bob
