Comments:
My best QRP effort in this contest by far. Rig: Elecraft K2. Antennas on my city
lot: a 176' doublet at 65', and a hastily-constructed inverted L with two raised
radials intruding into two adjoining properties <g>. As expected, the flattop
gave me most of the close-in contacts, and the vertical did better at distance
but had a higher received noise level.
High point: Working 49 states with 5 watts ... especially KH6ZM at 7 am local
time (the magic sunrise hour!). Never heard AK.
Low points: Missing six of the California sections (worked only a handful of CA
stations in total ... even hearing CA always a problem from here). Also failing
to get the attention of several AB stations who were moderately strong. No DX.
Thanks to all who dug my signal out of the noise!
