Comments:

Well the original plan was to operate at the Defense Information Systems
Agency (DISA) station in Arlington, VA (K4NCS). They have a Mosley
"MLPS 3-30-48" log periodic antenna up at least 100'. It covers 80-10m and
the antenna alone weighs 750 pounds! Only problem was that the rotator control
wouldn't turn the antenna towards EU...It was pointed due south! Listened on
80/40m the first night from there and 40m sounded pretty good.

The log periodic at the Dept of State is also on a rotator that needs some
maintenance. It is pointed southwest...ugh! So ended up using the dipole.

Not sure what it was but the "O" in the call seemed to be problematic.
Sometimes people thought the "S" was a "K" (like "W3DOK")...
No problem with the "D" as it seemed to come across clearly.
I definitely like a call beginning with "K3" better than "W3".
I also like a 1x2 better than a 1x3 call ;-)

Had fun while it lasted.

Best of health to all,
Eric K9GY
