Spent most of friday climbing towers fixing antennas ... ran new feed line to
15 meter beam .... repaired 40 and 80 meter antennas on hill top , come time
to climb X7-tower Which is my secondary 10/15 metr antenna aamd ,my ain 20
meter antenna to fix rotator ......ran out of gas .... in bed with flu all
week hi! Fortunately that antenna had kinda fixed itself on Europe during a
recent windstorm so it was at least strategically placed more or less .. of
course wind came up over night on saturday at about 100 kmh so it decided to
go to the southwest and that's where it stayed all sunday ... so had to run
bunch of europeans off the back on 20 ....... not a very productive
proposition .... usual frequency fights .... oddly enough only three this
contest .... all with other VE's ,,,........ two of whom are CFA's operating
here !!
Could not crack 100 countries any band , might have had a shot on 20 if beam
had been rotational.
Worked a bunch of stations 6 bands ..... loads of whom were happy to qsy and
many who requested the mult on other bands....... kudos to Paul K9PG ... at
WP3R who seemed to have the proper attitude about request for qsy's
hi !
Bricks to PJ4G who requested me to qsy from 10 to 15 .... I happily obliged
even though I did not need the mult on 15 asked him to qsy to 20 to give
ME a mult to which he Glibly replies "I dont need VO on 20 ... But work me
on 80 'cuz I need you there" yeah right !!! I guess he doesn't
believe in reciprocity .
Managed to stay Alive ( awake is another matter ) for 38 hours of the 48, now
back to bed to finish recovering from 'Flu.... XYL thinks I'm masochistic...
I told her I'm not ....... just Crazy hi !
