Comments:
Still no 20M gain antenna, but the $5 Home Depot GP up 10 feet did help a bit!
Nice to be able to switch from the dipole and occasionally snag one about to get
away.
Everything was going well until Sunday AM when my S-9 line noise reappeared for
about three hours, killing my 10/15M production. QSO total is 95% S&P- that's
the way it goes with 100W, wires up less than 40' up and a 10/15 Hexbeam up an
amazing 8M. BTW- that 'lil thing really plays.
This is my one and only serious contest effort each year- the family hates it!
Wasn't sure if 80M ever got going. I did not catch many strong EU signals as I
had hoped. 160 about same as last year, although I missed the EA this year. 40
was terrific and 20 stayed open almost all night, but try it with a GP and a
dipole. 10/15 were the best bands- again. You big guns have no idea how much
work this is with a modest antennas on a city lot!
My all time best - CU in 2004.
