Comments:
Atempt to deny aging by operating 48 hours without sleep deemed sucessful. I'm
apparently both alive and in denial.
Beautiful QTH
Great climate
No operator or equipment failures
Two FT-1000MPs
Quadra & Alpha78 Amps
160 - vertical(loaded tower)
80 - inverted V at 90 feet
40 - 2-L at 90 feet
20, 15, 10 - three tribanders. One at 95 feet and the other two on a separate
tower at 45 and 65 feet.
two pennant receiving antennas which didn't happen to help since the static came
from the same direction as the desired signals.
Australia is far from the big radio amateur population centers, and not many
people point their antennas toward here.
Worked almost twice as many USA stations (1429) as JAs (728), and there were
almost 1.5 times as many Europeans (1043) in the log as JAs.
Bad QRN from local atmospherics made copy on the low bands difficult. Never
heard North America on 160, and those worked on 80 were tough copy. Had a good
opening to Europe with no QRN just before sunrise the second day.
Otherwise conditions seemed good.
Thanks to John, VK4UC, and XYL Retta for their hospitality. Thanks for the QSOs.
