Comments:
My first serious contest since 1995 (I was AA6TT then) as well as my first
serious effort from Vermont QTH. A great team of operators showed up. I was
hoping this first season's contests would give me a good idea of what I should
do with the rest of the Rohn 55 I've squirreled away and these first 48 hours
made it clear I need better high band punch to EU. I am going to make good use
of HFTA software this winter with an eye on EU propagation angles (and perhaps
pay more attention to K1XX & WC1M's sagely advice!). Congratulations to K4JA,
N3RS and K1KI for outstanding M2 results. Murphy was everywhere--the two main
rotating towers experienced rotator failures Friday and we suffered thru endless
software crashes (and a couple of transceiver crashes). My wife and I are
expecting with a due date of Nov 28th, so no group effort for SS Phone or CQ WW
CW, ringers will be putting the station thru its paces SO2R both weekends while
I become a dad.
