Greetings from the Ottawa area and thanks to all for a fun contest!!
Wow! What a contest and the bands were flat on Saturday but a bit better on
Sunday. Very brief 6m enhancement at about 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, and rain
scatter several times later Sunday. It took me a while to catch on. Every time I
came upstairs to tell my wife, Eva, about a flurry of exciting contacts, she
would tell me that it had just finished another sudden major down pour. After
the first rain, my (power line) noise on 6m and 2m almost disappeared, and that
made a BIG difference. Mostly straight tropo scatter I think. I'd be interested
in hearing what the propagation gurus say.
My personal best ever score.
Operating time
