Comments:
Arrived home quite tired at 10 PM local time, Saturday night. Turned on radios.
20 meters was open to Europe.
Operated the rest of the contest, mostly on 40 meters. Finally went to bed at 5
AM, when the contest ended.
Finished with the thought that conditions were pretty good, and wished I had
spent more time on the air.
Woke up to read reports of terrible proagation on 3830! Guess I timed my
operation well.
After a considerable effort, I have had some success getting my local power
company to fix sources of power line noise. They are not quite done yet, but the
difference is already substantial. Many of the stations that I worked would not
have been audible a few months ago.
I strongly recommend taking whatever steps are needed to cure power line noise
problems. It is effort at least as valuable as new radios or antennas.
