Comments:
Another FUN EVENT is now behind us. Many thanks to all that came out to help
with setup / teardown and to the many operators that kept the SSB and CW
stations running for 24 hrs without any break. Also, a BIG THANKS to the GOTA
Ops for making the 400 Qs, the VHF/UHF Ops for hanging in there when 6 mtrs
never did open in STX... seemed strange... and to Walter, KK5LO for our
Satellite Q and associated Bonus Score.
What would a NARS event be without food. This year we had 18 Fried Turkeys
compliments of Mike - NA5F. No...they are not greasy. If you have never had
one - try it - just be careful to get the oil at the correct temp and level or a
major disaster could occur. (We did not have one) Dinner was topped off with
fantastic deserts that the ladies from the "HAM and SHEEZ" group prepared.
Now the scores are in the final calculations and we will all wait for the FD QST
to see how everyone placed this year. One thing is for sure, the more we do
this type of event, the better prepared we are for the real emergency that we
continue to pray NEVER HAPPENS.
73 for another year from - -
