Comments:
Was out of town all week arriving home late Friday night, therefore had many
errands and chores Sat/Sun so very limited time and missed most of the 6M
opening on Saturday. Did manage TI5 and XE though and about 5 all time new
grids. Picked up a 1296 xverter Saturday AM (thanks VE3EU) and installed a
borrowed antenna (thanks VE3CVG) @20 feet Sunday morning and managed my first
ever 1296 contacts (VE3CVG and VE9CB/2). I plan to have a permanent antenna on
the VHF/UHF stack and 35W by September on this band. Found the conditions on the
higher bands generally flat with a brief flurry of activity in the last 15
minutes (could not get all stations moved through the bands before time ran
out!!). See you in September!
