IC-746PRO, Alpha, Lots of antennas, NA 10.57
Certainly this is a modest score, but there really was only 12 hours of
significant "DX" conditions out of the whole 48. Almost nobody anywhere
to work on Saturday except the EU and JA M/M's
The new radio worked well, I could still hear all the same stations that
can never hear me (on 40/80). Sometimes though, my elevated base 4-squares
made of Rohn 25 on 80 and 40 are second rate antennas and just don't put out.
I read a posting, on the RTTY reflector, that the NCJ Sprints are a good
warmup to the "big" contests. Wrong. The Sprints/NAQP's/SS's are the real
contests for MANY of us, and the "big" ones are to kill time in between.
I SURE WISH THERE WAS A MAJOR DOMESTIC CONTEST BETWEEN NOW AND THE AUGUST
NAQP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
73, Bill WB0O, just killing time in North Dakota
