Comments:
Our "small" stack 2 x 6Y @ 19/13m fall down and is damaged to
nonexistence on the extremely high winds of OCT 28. It was a project
made in 1999 with the idea it will be up only one year and then reworked
to more serious state, it was up until than and working fine - in some
directions (SA, LongPath JA) usually better then the "big" stack.
I missed it very much since the openings to JA were practically in the
same time both LP and SP. So I was rotating the antenna every 5 minutes....
I was S&P-ing this year a lot, I feel to have a decent Number of mults
but I should have 200 QSOs more. Look at the 3830 I see how many mults I
lost !!!! DOZENS ! Of course after a contest one sees what was done
wrong....
Propagation was considerably better on sunday. The band always "born"
and "died" during only few minutes.
As always I could only hear the stations southern to me even not far
like 9A, S5 etc. still (or already) working and I could hear just
NOTHING. Of course same will be with the stations northern to me like
OH, SM...
Compared to last year - OK1RF's turn very few US WEST coast stations,
no KL7, KH6. I have 200 Ws less, 50 mults more. Compared to 2000, much
less Ws - the propagation was shorter both in time and distance. I just
wonder what we will see next year here ( OK1RF ) and if there is going
to be at least a few contacts to USA in 2004 - my turn.
ARRL 10m is FUN contest with decent overnight rest and nice pileups,
chance (or need) to S&P, everything fine contest has to have !
