Congrats to K6LA and K6NA for great scores. I knew from the start that I had
no shot at winning, so I didnt go all out. Only made 2 or 3 2nd radio q's in
this one.
W6KP had to leave town by noon on Sunday, so that meant I had to operate during
the night. For those of you that dont know, the rate sucks at night. From
10-13z I had hours of 48, 46, and 39. If I didnt have to operate those 3 hours
and operated the last 3 hours of the contest instead, I would have had rate of
100+ those 3 hours. Oh well, there is always next year!
I got off to a pretty good start. First 5 hours were 174, 132, 140, 136, 133.
Ended up with 16 hours of 100+ rate. The EU participation was amazing. I made
487 DX contacts, about 5 were JA, 10 were SA, and the rest were EU.
73, Dan N6MJ
