Hope everyone enjoyed Canada Day! As always, nice to see the VEs across
Canada take some of their holiday time to drop by and exchange QSOs.
I see Todd, VE5MX has piloted the VE6JY station to a new Canadian record
- GREAT JOB Todd!
Given we are at the top of the sun spot cycle, conditions were somewhat
disappointing. 10m was pretty much a no show, only the local guys I
persuaded to QSY. 15m was not much better, but was at least open for a
short time. 20m was the bread and butter band this year with a noticeable
number of DX stations participating in the Contest. 40m and 80m were their
typical noisy summer bands, but propagation was better than average. I
think some people missed some opportunities by going to bed early. 160 is
tough on a city lot but thanks to those that dug out my weak signal.
As always, great fun! Thanks to those who dropped by for a quick chat...
see you all in the next one.
73, Bart - VE5CPU
