Operator List:N2TX,W2XX

Equipment Description: Yaesu 1000mp + a tired old 1000d, Pair of Alpha 87a's

We took some pre contest pictures of the station at
http:/n2tx.swobs.com/contesting.htm

This was a great weekend as everything went real well. The only mishap was
JP's 1000d which again developed some front-end problems. I think he's going
to spring for a new radio as his old workhorse has seen brighter days. As
for the conditions I thought they were very good and there seemed to be some
place to always call CQ and get a few responses.

On Long Island we have an on-going competition battle which really seems to
drive the scores up. The AA2FB station manned by Ted (K2QMF) and his son
Tony (AA2FB) are still trying to overcome the two phone op's on their
favorite mode of CW. As the results seem to have us on top by about 150k
this made the weekend a real blast. I was getting packet talk messages the
whole weekend saying they were have trouble with their iced up antennas.
They were trying to reel us in all weekend in hope of simmering our
enthusiasm. Well, I know we had lots of ice up on top but I pulled a tuner
out of the closet and pressed on. This really made the contest by itself a
real blast. Ted me and JP figure Peter Lugers for lunch will be fine!
(inside bet)
and don't forget we'll spot you guys a million points for phone if you can
handle the Man's Mode ha.

Thanks to everyone for a great time!

73 Mike
