Comments:
The start-on-40 strategy worked well for me. Spent the first
20 minutes there and should have stayed longer. Rate dropped
after switching to 20; 0100-0200 was my worst hour. Unlike
last weekend on phone, 20 was long. No direct path to W4/8/9,
did work several on scatter, but was tough going. About 0130
or so, short skip to TX/OK appeared.
Had some problems with RF in the keying line on 40 only, so
used paddle exclusively on that band. Yet, my rate was still
better on 40 either than 20 or 80. For me 40 is almost always
the money band in domestic contests.
Two mults (VE4 and J3) heard but not worked. I only worked
two DX mults (ZF and KP4). Maybe that's because I kept the
beams in a northerly direction the whole time...not many
QSOs to be had to the south from here.
