Only fair to Eu first night (41 QSOs) and much better the second
night (80 QSOs). New filters for FT1000MP arrived Sat. and that
made a big difference too!
QSO breakdown: 909 N.America, 3 S.A., 121 Europe, 5 Asia (3 JAs, XZ0A, 4x4NJ),
1 Africa (EA8) and 13 Oceania (VK, ZL, KH6, V73, KH2)/
Exciting SW path opening Sunday morning. JAs started coming through at 11z
and stayed till 1230z -- 20 minutes past sunrise. Worked two right around
12z. Worked NL7Z short path at 1129z, KH2/K4SXT at 1143z and XZ0A at 1146z.
On Saturday worked one JA just after 11z but that was only one heard.
The gear: FT1000MP, TS940s (2nd RX), 4-1000 amp 1200w out, 9 Beverages,
all single wire, 500-880 feet; 100-ft series-fed Rohn 25 vertical with
top hat. Didn't have time to get the parasitic wires tuned up in time,
though they seemed to be of some benefit on the SW opening to Asia.
