Whisky 4 Mexican Radio (AA4NC - op)
1000 X 79 = 158,000 SOHP / 12 hours
I operated the first hour Saturday, and 11 hours on Sunday, due to a band gig
on Saturday night. My best hour was a 148 between 3 and 4 AM ( 0800-0900z)! I
guess it's good to be "fresh meat" . It sounded like conditions were pretty
good until the flare happened. I was on 15m, and the rate wasn't great anyway
(hey, we're east coast) . The band just died away with no callers for several
minutes. I tuned around 10 and 20 on the 2nd radio only to find they were gone
too.
I just gave up at an even 1000 Qs on Sunday when I couldn't take any more
jamming. I must have happened upon some sacred 80m frequency, because an army
of mad jammers followed me around the band for at least an hour. The last
straw came when they fired up the Wu Tang Clan at about 30 over 9.
I knew the Sweep was going to be easy this time when I worked VY1A and VY1BE
in the first hour.

Will
