This one was lots of fun. Did much better than I thought I would,
as conditions were only so-so in British Columbia.
Many thanks to Allan, VE7SZ, for the use of his equipment and
antenna farm.
Fifteen started off well to JA, with about 400 Qs in the first three
hours. Also worked about 700 EU on twenty on Saturday, but only about
100 on Sunday. No EU on 15 at all.
Conditions to JA on 40 were horrible. My strategy was to try and
maximize the 6 point JAs, especially the first night, but I couldn't run
either night except for about 2 hours around sunrise. It was wise that I
didn't go 40M s/b, as it would have been VERY boring.
Had some problems with line noise on 15 (S7 most of the time), so I
stayed on 20 as much as I could.
This contest will be a REAL blast from VE7 when conditions
improve--I needed more 100/hrs and less 50/hrs.
Congratulations to VO1MP for the super numbers from Newfoundland.
73,
Gary VE7NTT
