Made a strategic decision that conditions on 10m would support
reasonable QSO rates running low power this year. Wrong! It was just
like recent times struggling to make a decent total while listening to
the LUs piling on the points. About 90% of Qs were made beaming to S.
Atlantic - mostly S. Americans, some European backscatter, but
surprisingly few North Americans via scatter (no direct path for
anything north of the Caribbean). Worked most of the N. Americans I
could hear, mainly high in the band where it was quieter, but heard very
few of the "big gun" signals. Not QRV? Not beaming the right way? Or
not interested in struggling for a few points on 10 when better was
available elsewhere? I certainly missed the US multiplier pool.
