Hi all...attached is the CQWW rough draft scores....I hate making excuses,
but this weekend the weather was the limiting factor from this end...we had
to shut down 3 time for nearby lightning strikes, and had a tornado warning
in the nearby county...equipment wise we only lost one amp...the BTI on the
20m station lost its biasing zener and the audio from the 930 was
distorted...I spent amost an hour diagnosing the problem...thought it was a
bad coax connector...so we lost the first hours run time on 20m...for the
first time the network worked flawlessly....think I have finally learned
how to do it...hi
It was real frustration to see and hear the New Englad guys running Eu on
20 and 15 and even 10m long before we could hear Eu....it is apparent that
propagation was favored by more northern locations...I saw that Ken N4UK
had over 1200 qso's on 15m and he had a 3 el at 47 ft...we had an 8 el t 80
ft and 4 el at 76 ft..full time ops and packet available...Go Figure!!!
Long story shortened...we had a wonderful time...some great guys came to
operate ...food was good...and the comradeship was wonderful...looking
forward to the next...de Rick NQ4I
