A rare chance to hear and work Europe made this contest a real memorable one!
Not much the first night (heard UA2FF but he only heard bits of my call before
he faded) from Europe but the JA's were good copy from 0900 onwards.
Worked 10 European countrys in the 0200 - 0500 UTC area the second night:
GW6, 9A2, SM4, SP2, UA2F, OT6, GM3, DK8, PI4, OZ3. Most of these were new to me
on top band.
Many of the 160 tests are frustrating because we can hear but not be heard, but
not a problem this year. There are always a few exceptions with high QRN or
listening on a beverage, but generally what was heard was worked. That and an
Europan opening on a contest weekend....Can't ask for much more. Had we had
advance notice, would have got the troops together and done a "real" m/op
effort instead of just me and a limping cluster doing s&p.
