those weak stations)

Wow! At point in the cycle, I can't beleive that I worked more
Europeans than JA's! From northern California, this IS a big deal.
The pipeline into EU was just super. The first hour into EU was
around 110/hr, which tied first hour of the contest into JA/Pac.
Sunday propagation into Eu was interesting... the rate got better as
signals started getting weak later in the opening. Sunday was also
highlighted by the number of QRP EU stations that called me. I was
getting lots of reports like 001, 002, 006, 011 ... I first thought
that these guys were not in tune with what report to give. But they
all followed thier numbers by signing QRP. Neat.
No other interesting propagation to note. The band died at around
0300z both nights - usually we can work JA much later, and we can also
follow the sunrise across Asia into eastern EU until 0600z, but not
this weekend. Suprising lack of MULTS, especially from the
Carribean.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the score at this time of the cycle.
Many thanks to Bill & Ginny for letting me use their fine station.
