[Yaesu] FT 897

I have a new FT 897 and it seems to hang up in the coarse setting on menu
35.  The menu display will change from fine to coarse and back again.
However the actual action of the radio is still as though coarse has been
selected.  It will not change it until I turn it off for a period of time.
After which it operates correctly.  Has anyone else had any experience like
this?
