Well I screwed up and mistyped FT-990 instead of FT-900 which is the unit I
have the problem with. Your suggestion to reset memory cured my problem.
By the way the reset on the FT-900 is "hold the UP and DOWN button while pow
er on". Isn't the internet great, I post a problem and a few minutes later I
get an answer. Many thanks for the suggestion.
