I recently bought and built the K1EL Winkey kit and installed it. It
appears to work just fine and has gotten rid of the random bizarre
computer-keying behavior of this new Window 7 shack computer. However, I
noticed one anomaly. During a contest this weekend, the speed on the
selected radio, nominally set for 31 wpm, would ratchet itself down to 26
wpm. At first I thought it was some kind of RFI thing but found out that
if I increased the speed pot on the K1EL, it would affect the speed of
WriteLog.
Is there any way to make that speed pot setting irrelevant to
WriteLog's CW speed setting? I realize that in stand-alone mode, the speed
pot is necessary but in host mode I would have thought that it would be
'out of the circuit' so to speak. Clearly that is not the case.
Any suggestions?
