You need a circuit buffer
Never try to key the amplifier direct from the rig or massive failure to the
radio may occur
In ameritron's web page you'll find a keying buffer or you can build your
own

Asunto: [WriteLog] Connecting FT-897 to Amplifier
Hi all,
I just acquired a Yaesu FT-897 and having a problem to connect it to the
Ameritron
AL-811H Amplifier.
Amplifier is working OK with both Kenwood radios.
Got an audio cable from R/S 1/8" stereo plug and hooks up to the ACC. Jack
back of the radio, and the two RCA phone plugs attaches to the Amplifiers
ALC and Relay jacks of the Amplifiers.
What am I missing here that the Amplifier is not engaging?
Appreciate your help.
