!?! AMD made a true 64-bit processor long before Intel
came out with their IA-32 compatible 64-bit processor.
In fact, almost every general-purpose processor vendor had
64-bit products before Intel. Intel was busy trying to get
people to convert to Itanium and totally missed the boat.
The good thing is that once Intel saw the light, they were
able to react fairly quickly, and now everyone can benefit.
