Can the firmware be updated with out sending the radio to the service center

Trent,
I'm not aware of the resistor mod. The pre-V6 firmware caused the
radio to lock up for 6 seconds while it talked to the computer.
Apparently, it downloads the complete parameter set when any command
is sent and takes that long to do it. You need to update the
firmware.
