Yes, if you record the contest for RTTY and then use the 'Audio Review'
program that comes with WriteLog, it will decode all the stuff on the
recording.

This is fine as far as it goes, but given the difference in quality
between the original and the recorded, it seems to me that a
difference in decoding would be likely. And how much more disk space
is the recorded audio versus the hypothetical recorded ASCII?
And the recorded audio can't easily be searched for significant
strings, as the ASCII file can.
