In the Chicago area a common Rover frequency would probably not work out
well. Several very active area rovers would step all over each other as
would the base stations trying to work the rovers.
Rovers in this area do the same thing that many of the big gun base stations
do: try to stake out a frequency to call their own. Within a very short
time, everyone figures out where to look for each rover. Seems to have
worked out well. Nobody owns a freq but there is a lot of camaraderie that
goes a long way to everyone having a good time.
Best of luck to everyone this weekend,
Mike WB8BZK
