Gentlemen:
I have been putting a BPF in front of my DEM xvtr to make the band usable in
en71, Ft Wayne IN. I have it arranged that it can be inserted or not using a
transfer switch. I leave it out unless the S meter on my IF rig shows an
upscale reading which often reaches S5 or more. It clears right up with the
filter inserted. I use the 3-pole filter that shows up in the literature
using UT-141 for resonators slightly modified for ease of tuning.
Prior to setting this up the band was oftern unusable. I put a spectrum
analyzer on my antenna and found a very strong signal about 10 Mhz below 903
and then a whole gob of "stuff" a little lower where I expected to see the
cell phone signals. Given the signal 10 MHz below 903 I would not like to go
down to 902 as it would make the filter job that much more difficult.
