At some point after the jib bent 90° the strap(s) must have broke. The
tower crashed to the ground but the crane ball was left swinging around in
the air which is also a dangerous situation.

If the video is advanced frame-by-frame at about 7 to 8 seconds the jib can
be seen to deflect downwards continuously until failure occurs. If the
strap broke first, the jib reaction prior to failure would have been upwards
in the opposite direction due to the instant release of bending tension.
The full counter-reaction of the boom goes off screen at about 9 seconds as
the camera follows the fall of the tower section, but reappears at 11 to 13
seconds when reverse curvature of the boom from the counter-reaction is
visible through the first boom oscillation.
