[TowerTalk] Balun - ahead or behind?

I'm confused as to what is 'ahead' and what is 'behind' - it's a matter of 
perspective, is it not?
Which one is between the radio and the tuner?

I moved recently, and had to give up most of my magazines (eg. paper QST back 
to 1930),
so I have no access to the N6BV article.
