The tefzel ties should last more than 15 years. Plain old garden variety
nylon are rated at one year. The tefzel ties are aqua blue in color; we
sometimes used them on satellite harnesses and in places where they needed
to hold together under high UV exposure.
I notice an acetal tie available (it's black in color) called the Dura-Ty.
This tie states that service life is 20+ years, and may be cheaper than the
tefzel. However, they do not appear to do as well against acid rain when
compared to the tefzel.
