It is good that things turned out about as good as could be expected.
Still, if it were me and I had a customer with your situation I would be
offering something to try to make up for the hassle. This good will gesture
would help keep that customer and give him a happy ending to tell his
friends so they don't have such a negative impression of the supplier.
