Go to wrtc2014.org. You can "purchase" a complete field station (excluding the
radios) with delivery after the contest is finished July 13, 2014. It is also a
way to support the contest. The hole thing will be available $1500, 40' tower,
three band beam, dipoles with baluns for 40 and 80, 2kW generator, tent, cables
etc. etc. Check it out. It may solve your problems.
I managed to operate VK7 on 40 with 100W during the trial contest last week-end.

It sounds like you really don't want to improve your signal quite bad enough
to make a major difference. Life is about compromises.
That said, if you do plan to move in a few years and do plan to build a
tower, how about buying a Field Day type raisable tower and see if that can
go in the nice yard you have for some contests and buy a yagi that you will
use on the new tower later. If you like SS and ARRL DX then it only needs
to be up for about 4 months a year.
You could make a 40M 4 sq if the trees were right an you laid down A LOT of
radials. Other than that, I think its time to accelerate your land buying
plans or by an amp.
