Speaking of military poles...
I have not tried it myself due to small backyard, but "VHF Field Day"
friend of mine told me that if you are stubborn enough and guy it very well
you can go up to 30-40 feet with rotator+VHF beam on top of it. Everything
higher than that, he says, is a wet noodle nightmare.
