I found two blue/green traps in one of my old parts boxes. Size is
total length 8.25''. coil size is 6'' long X 1.5'' diameter. Ends
have 1'' aluminium stubs. One end is .5'' OD & the other end is .75''
OD. With a hole drilled thru each stub. Coil is covered in molded
blue/green plastic or PVC. Weight is .75 lbs. each. On one end in the
molded cover it says 40. I believe the color is the old HyGain color.
First I thought these were traps for a 40m dipole. But now I think
they might have been for an extension of a HyGain tribander driven
element to add a rotatable dipole on 40m to a HyGain tribander.
Anyone remember them or know their useage. I can take a photo if
anyone is interested.
